Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Five+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably in transmission.
• Experience with transmission design software (PLS-CADD, PLS POLE, MFAD).
• Familiarity with design codes and NESC standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong problem solving and time management.
• Ability to work independently and understand structural analysis for steel and wood pole design.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission line engineering and design on new lines, refurbishments, and reconductoring projects.
• Conduct field inspections and develop cost-effective solutions and engineering reports.
• Perform studies and investigations to recommend actions and prevent issues.
• Specify and coordinate material delivery; review vendor calculations and drawings.
• Support environmental and permitting efforts; prepare project specifications and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to share information benefiting National Grid.
• Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and explore new technologies.
