Job summary

GPD Group seeks a Transmission Constructability and Quality Lead to improve constructability, safety, and design feedback for transmission line projects in and around Indianapolis. You will bridge engineering and field teams to ensure designs are buildable and compliant with industry standards.

The role requires extensive field experience, collaboration across disciplines, and a drive to reduce risk while enhancing installation efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• 10+ years in overhead transmission line construction and related roles.
• Expert knowledge of transmission line construction methods and field practices.
• Experience with transmission line design software.
• Strong safety codes and regulatory understanding.
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Review transmission line engineering packages for constructability, safety, and practicality before construction.
• Identify construction challenges related to access, equipment usage, structure installation, conductor installation, material handling, and sequencing.
• Participate in design reviews and offer constructability feedback based on field experience.
• Help identify opportunities to reduce construction risk, improve safety, and increase installation efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction personnel to resolve design concerns before construction begins.
• Mentor engineers and designers on practical construction considerations and industry field practices.
• Interface with project managers to align quality goals with schedule and budget.
