Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a part-time Senior Facilitator to support the Department of Labor TAP program, helping ~200,000 service members transition to civilian careers.

You will teach civilian occupation readiness, guide goal-setting, and deliver both in-person and virtual instruction across hubs with satellite sites. Strong classroom and public speaking skills are essential, with travel up to 50% and potential extended hours.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 5 years TAP instructor or career counseling experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years TAP Training experience.
• Experience as a Classroom Instructor.
• Knowledge of recruitment, hiring and effective job seeking skills in private/public sectors.
• Knowledge of workplace requirements for entry-level jobs.
• Ability to train groups up to 50 participants.
• Proficiency with MS Windows and Office.
• Ability to interact with Military clients and speak to groups, engaging a diverse audience.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work extended hours, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Teach and/or instruct military personnel transitioning to civilian occupations.
• Guide transitioning service members in goal setting and gap analysis.
• Provide comprehensive prep for civilian employment, job searching, applications, networking, training opportunities, and credentials.
• Assist in preparing for civilian employment and technical program participation.
• Mentor facilitators in standardized curriculum and apply effective facilitation techniques.
• Assist Lead Facilitator with administrative tasks as needed.
• Deliver small and large group instruction on the job search process.
• Conduct in-person or virtual classroom sessions with standardized content.
• Interact with Executive Level participants.
