Job summary

DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) seeks a seasoned project manager to lead bus and light rail vehicle capital projects, guiding planning, procurement, testing, and closeout while coordinating with manufacturers, consultants, and regulators. You will support fleet modernization, infrastructure improvements, and capital investment programs, serving as the primary liaison across internal teams.

A Bachelor's degree and PMP preferred; four years in engineering project management is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Transportation, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• Four (4) years experience associated with engineering projects to include three (3) years of project management experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
• Experience managing transit vehicle procurements, rail vehicle rehabilitation projects, bus fleet replacement programs, or federally funded capital projects is preferred.
• Experience working with transit agencies, vehicle manufacturers, or rail systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides support for the DART Transform Program, which includes advancing major system investments including new light rail vehicles and bus fleet, light rail station modernization, resiliency initiatives, and the Unified Signals Project, etc.
• Manage all phases of bus, light rail, and vehicle capital projects and procurements from planning and solicitation through design, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, acceptance, warranty administration, and closeout.
• Serve as the primary liaison with internal departments, external agencies, municipalities, consultants, contractors, manufacturers, funding partners, and regulatory authorities.
• Lead project meetings and coordinate cross-functional activities among Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Safety, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Develop and administer project scopes, technical specifications, budgets, schedules, cost estimates, evaluation criteria, contracts, cash flow forecasts, risk registers, and project management plans.
