Job summary

Three Rivers Community Action in Minnesota seeks a Lead Transit Operator responsible for driving routes, assisting leadership, and performing administrative tasks to maintain reliable service. The role includes route timing, vehicle maintenance coordination, and safety inspections across the service area.

The position requires CDL driving, supervisory experience, and the ability to pass background checks and DOT drug testing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years CDL driving experience.
• Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Minimum 1–2 years supervisory experience.
• Ability to pass required background study and MVR checks.
• Current automobile insurance required.
• Strong organizational and deadline-driven skills.
• Ability to pass CFR Part 40 drug/alcohol testing.
• Ability to pass Fitness for Duty exam.
• Ability to operate large transit vehicles safely.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Drive assigned routes and back up other drivers as needed.
• Support leadership with reporting, scheduling, and route training.
• Assist with timing and planning of routes and vehicle maintenance scheduling.
• Conduct regular vehicle and facility safety inspections.
• Resolve dispatch issues to maintain smooth operations.
