Job summary

Baker Tilly is actively seeking a Senior Consultant to join the Transaction Services team within the Financial Advisory practice in Chicago. You will provide due diligence and transaction advisory services to meet clients' complex financial needs.

Our client base includes privately held and publicly traded companies, private equity funds, mezzanine funds, banks, and business development companies, offering diverse opportunities across industries and challenging work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required and a CPA designation are preferred.
• At least three (3) years of relative experience required, ideally in a mid to large size professional services firm performing audits and related services for a diverse client base.
• At least two (2) years of transaction services / due diligence experience highly preferred.
• Professional designations or candidacy (CFE, CFA, etc.) and / or an advanced degree are a plus.
• High motivation, initiative and positive attitude.
• Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities appropriately.
• Intermediate modeling and excel skills, experience conducting complex quantitative and qualitative financial analysis and ability to generate data-driven insights.
• Ability to work autonomously, to meet tight deadlines, and to thrive in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, experience presenting analyses to management and ability to lead and drive initiatives.
• Ability to work effectively and thrive in a team environment with all levels of client personnel in various industries.
• Ability to comfortably interact with senior level client personnel, including supporting the preparation of and participating in executive briefings.

Responsibilities

• Interact directly with Partners on matters related to client and engagement management.
• Data gathering, document review and preparation of quality of earnings reports.
• Research and financial analysis of target companies.
• Due diligence for both buy side, sell side, and corporate finance transactions.
• Communication with clients to ensure delivery of exceptional client service.
• Participate in various marketing and recruiting activities of the firm.
• Opportunities for career development and to advance within the transaction advisory services group.
