Job summary

BMSS Advisors & CPAs is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Transaction Advisory Services practice, focusing on financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions in the lower middle market. You will work with business owners, lenders, and deal teams to deliver QOE analyses and working capital assessments.

Based in Mississippi with options to base out of any BMSS office location, this client-facing role emphasizes relationship-building, technical advisory skills, and clear reporting to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with comfort handling large datasets.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; GAAS familiarity a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting audit, TAS, investment banking, or private equity.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client & deal teams.
• Relationship-driven mindset with collaborative, client-facing approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial due diligence and Quality of Earnings analyses for buy-side and sell-side engagements.
• Collaborate with clients, deal counsel, and transaction advisors through the deal cycle.
• Contribute to working capital analyses, financial statement normalization, and findings documentation.
• Assist with closing statements and true-ups, including indebtedness schedules and cash equivalents.
• Prepare clear analyses and reports to help clients and deal teams evaluate opportunities and risks.
• Foster strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external deal professionals.
