Job summary

BMSS Advisors & CPAs is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Transaction Advisory Services practice, focused on financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. This client-facing role supports buy-side and sell-side engagements in the lower middle market.

You will collaborate with business owners, lenders, and deal teams to deliver Quality of Earnings analyses, working capital assessments, and closing statement support, informing critical decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in public accounting audit, transaction advisory, investment banking, or private equity.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with comfort working with financial data and large datasets.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to clients and deal teams.
• A relationship-driven mindset with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial due diligence and Quality of Earnings analyses supporting buy-side and sell-side transactions.
• Collaborate with clients, deal counsel, and transaction advisors throughout the deal cycle.
• Contribute to working capital analyses, financial statement normalization, and key findings documentation.
• Assist with closing statement preparation and review, including net working capital true-ups, indebtedness schedules, and cash and cash equivalents determinations.
• Prepare clear, well-supported analyses and reports that help clients and deal teams evaluate transaction opportunities and risks.
• Build strong working relationships with internal team members, clients, and external deal professionals.
