Job summary

Utility Trailer of Texas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanic to lead complex diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of tractors, trailers, and related equipment. You will train junior staff, read schematics, and manage parts and costs with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ fleet maintenance experience and a Diesel technician program or equivalent certification. CDL w/hazmat and related certifications are required within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of fleet maintenance experience or completion of a diesel program.
• CDL with HazMat required within 12 months of employment.
• ASE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor mechanics; supervise and inspect work.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, brake, and A/C systems.
• Estimate repair times and parts costs; document in fleet software.
• Interpret schematics and shop manuals; ensure safety and compliance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks on vehicles.
