Job summary
Utility Trailer of Texas, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanic to oversee complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a range of fleet equipment including tractors and trailers. You will train junior technicians and ensure safety standards are met across all tasks.
The role requires 5+ years in fleet maintenance, diesel tech training, and CDL with hazmat within 12 months. Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with fleet software are essential.
Qualifications
- Must possess mechanical aptitude with 5+ years as a fleet maintenance technician.
- DOT certifiable and CDL with hazmat within 12 months of employment.
- CMV 609 A/C Certified and proficient in A/C system diagnosis and repair.
- Completion of an accredited diesel technician program preferred.
Responsibilities
- Trains assigned employees in maintenance and repair methods and leads the work of subordinates.
- Reads schematics and shop manuals to perform repairs and stay current with technology.
- Operate a forklift and perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, brake, and air systems.
- Estimate time and materials and document repairs in maintenance software.
