Job summary

Lochner seeks an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to lead design and operations for traffic projects in Salt Lake City. The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering with 6+ years in traffic design, and a PE license (Utah preferred).

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, Synchro, and related tools is essential. You will develop MOT plans, perform traffic simulations and analyses, review designs, and contribute to proposals while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering required; 6+ years of traffic design/operations experience.
Professional Engineer license required; Utah license desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication; client relations abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead design of traffic engineering projects and related tasks.
Prepare plans for signing/striping, lighting, signals, ITS, and intersections.
Develop MOT plans for large design-build projects.
Run basic traffic simulations using HCS, SYNCHRO, CORSIM, VISSIM.
Prepare traffic impact analyses and related reports.
Review plans, calculations, specs, and cost estimates for quality and conformity.
Write reports and maintain QA/QC throughout docs.
Produce project reports and feasibility studies.
Collaborate with staff at all levels; support pursuits and proposals.
