Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer and Project Manager to lead planning, analysis, design, and delivery of transportation projects across Texas. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client expectations, and shape solutions that improve mobility and safety.

This role offers growth through mentorship and active involvement in pursuits. You’ll direct TIAs and traffic studies, oversee schedules and budgets, and ensure Jacobs’ standards are met while delivering high-impact

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 10+ years of progressive traffic engineering experience.
• Experience delivering projects for TxDOT, municipalities, MPOs, counties, or federal agencies.
• Strong understanding of transportation project development and delivery processes.
• Experience managing project schedules and budgets.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and prioritize multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on traffic engineering studies and design projects.
• Lead development of TIAs, Traffic Operations Studies, and related analyses.
• Provide technical oversight for traffic operations analysis and safety evaluations.
• Lead development of innovative congestion, mobility, and safety solutions.
• Manage complex transportation projects for state DOTs, municipalities, etc.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Jacobs' quality and safety standards.
• Support project pursuits through scope development and proposals.
• Contribute to business development in the Texas transportation market.
