Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill invites applications for a Senior Traffic Engineer in Quincy, MA. You will lead traffic impact studies, signal and safety projects, and coordinate with DOT and municipal clients to improve safety and mobility across communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Typically requires 6+ years of experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Proficiency in traffic simulation software, including SYCHRO and SIDRA.
  • Knowledge of CAD software including MicroStation/Connect, InRoads/OpenRoads; AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS.
  • Experience with DOT project design and plan preparation requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects, and keeping documentation organized.
  • Develop technical traffic reports and documents for DOT, municipalities and private developers.
  • Develop and conduct traffic impact studies, including trip generation, capacity analysis, and crash/safety analysis.
  • Develop traffic signal design and manage design of safety improvement projects.
  • Oversight of traffic counts, analyze traffic data, and identify patterns and trends to understand current traffic conditions and potential future needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and other engineers, including the use of traffic simulation software (SYNCRO and SIDRA).
  • Design transportation plans and systems (roads, signals, etc.) to improve safety, efficiency, and mobility.
  • Stay informed about advances in transportation engineering and technology, as well as regulations and standards.

Compensation: $108,000 - $148,000 / year

Are you an experienced Traffic Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? Key Responsibilities

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
