GRAEF, a leading U.S. engineering consultancy, seeks a Traffic Engineer in Chicago to lead transportation projects. You will manage studies, mentor staff, and build client relationships while contributing to growth and quality delivery on high-profile assignments.

The role offers hybrid scheduling, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and opportunities to expand your leadership in a well-established practice.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with transportation/traffic emphasis.
• Minimum 5 years of traffic engineering experience.
• Illinois PE license required.
• PTOE and/or RSP certification is a plus.
• Experience in project management or leading technical tasks.
• Ability to handle multiple complex assignments and priorities.
• Proficiency with HCS, SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, and ability to guide staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee traffic impact analyses and planning studies.
• Manage traffic engineering projects including scope, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery.
• Mentor junior staff and review technical work for quality control.
• Support proposals, client development, and business development efforts.
