Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated in Owings Mills, MD seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead traffic design and studies across local and national transportation projects. You will mentor junior engineers, manage schedules and budgets, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on work zone controls, signing, ITS, and signals.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in traffic engineering, PE or PTOE preferred, and experience with VDOT/MDOT or design-build projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license preferred; PTOE preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of traffic engineering experience.
• VDOT, MDOT, MDTA or design-build experience preferred.
• MicroStation experience required.
• Proficiency with traffic analysis software (VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS) preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Project management and leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis for traffic-related tasks, working in a team environment.
• Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within the Transportation unit.
• May include management of various traffic-related tasks and client meetings.
• Prepare design and cost estimates and assist in proposal development.
