Job summary

VHB is actively seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer - Design to join our transportation practice in the Northeast. You will develop, analyze and evaluate traffic improvements, including signals and roundabouts, and work on multimodal transportation projects for CT, NH, and MA.

Qualifications

5–8 years of professional transportation/traffic design engineering experience.
Proficiency in Synchro preferred.
Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD required.
Vissim modeling capabilities a plus.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required; Master's preferred.
PE license required; PTOE certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop, analyze and evaluate traffic improvements including traffic signals and roundabouts.
Develop traffic and transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal projects.
Conduct safety engineering analysis focused on design and operations.
Design traffic control devices and work zone traffic control.
Develop intersection design and use MUTCD guidance for signal warrant analyses.
Attend and lead meetings with agencies and developers; prepare client presentations.
Prepare and review technical memoranda and reports; mentor junior team members.
