Job summary

BL Companies is seeking a Senior Traffic/Transportation Engineer in Norwood, MA with 7+ years of experience to lead transportation projects within the Transportation group. The role involves traffic analysis, signal design, corridor studies, and public engagement.

Ideal candidates hold a PE with PTOE preferred and are proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation, Vissim, and Synchro. Hybrid work options and a comprehensive benefits package are available.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of traffic/transportation experience.
• PE required, PTOE preferred.
• Experience with traffic impact studies, corridor studies, signal design, and signing / pavement marking.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD or MicroStation), Vissim, and Synchro.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering analysis tasks, such as traffic analysis; traffic signal sequencing, phasing and timing; traffic data collection; technical reports; and traffic modeling and simulation.
• Prepare engineering plans including traffic signal design; intersection geometrics including Complete Streets principles; pavement markings and signage; and temporary traffic control and construction staging plans.
• Assist in preparation of contract documents, including plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Provide technical assistance and lead technical aspects on multiple and a variety of transportation and transportation related projects.
• Provide responsive client service and strong communication, both internally and externally.
• Supervise and complete traffic planning and engineering analyses, alternatives analysis and designs.
• Prepare materials and attend project related meetings outside of the office with clients, agencies, and the public.
• Attend client meetings, presentations and public hearings.
• Maintain organized project files.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and aids in the delegation of tasks.
