Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Five years of professional engineering experience in design/construction of public facilities, including traffic engineering.
• Two years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Direct and implement division goals and policies for traffic and transportation engineering.
• Supervise and coordinate traffic engineering work on facilities such as lighting and signals.
• Develop procedures to improve efficiency and monitor workloads.
• Review private development plans, traffic studies, and CEQA/NEPA documents for impacts.
• Coordinate with other departments and external agencies to resolve issues.
• Assist in budget preparation, justify resource needs, and monitor expenditures.
• Review plans with developers/contractors for traffic systems in projects.
• Prepare staff reports and maintain documentation of operations.
