Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. in Norfolk, VA seeks a Trades/Utilities Senior Worker to perform skilled repair and maintenance across electrical, plumbing, mechanical and structural systems. High school diploma and trade training preferred. Two positions will be filled from this recruitment; salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Training in a skilled trade/craft.
• Journeyman or Master’s License in relevant trades preferred.
• Experience in higher education environment preferred.
• Ability to perform repairs across multiple trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled repair and maintenance tasks in one or more specialized trade/utilities areas.
• Maintain mechanical, structural, electrical and plumbing components of the building and grounds.
• Respond to essential personnel duties during emergencies and university closings.
