Trade Compliance Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to oversee day-to-day import and export compliance near Houston, TX. The role ensures shipments conform to CBP and EAR rules and corporate policies, working in-office.

The position requires coordinating with freight forwarders and brokers, preparing EEI filings, and guiding cross-functional teams on regulatory requirements. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience with the EAR, CBP, HTS, and Schedule B.
• Experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
• Experience with steel commodities including pipe, fittings, flanges, and valves.

Responsibilities

• Analyze import documentation for completeness and compliance with CBP requirements.
• Prepare import documents for the customs broker.
• Monitor customs broker performance against SOPs and compliance KPIs.
• Prepare export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and carnets.
• File Electronic Export Information (EEI) via the AES.
• Track and report the status of all imports and exports.
• Maintain records and reports of all imports.
• Provide import and export guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Assist the Trade Compliance Manager with investigations and audits.
