Job summary

Riddle Tractor in Winston-Salem, NC seeks an experienced Tractor Technician to join its Service Department. The ideal candidate diagnoses and repairs tractors and related equipment with minimal supervision.

This role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, real-world mechanical skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Kubota training is provided as needed, and familiarity with John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, and other brands is a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of professional experience repairing tractors or related equipment.
Formal technical training or manufacturer certification preferred.
Ability to diagnose and repair diesel-powered equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electricals, and drivetrains.
Ability to read electrical/hydraulic schematics and service manuals.
Proficient with diagnostic tools and manufacturer software.

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, drivetrain, and electronic system problems.
Perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydrostatic systems, and related components.
Diagnose faults using wiring diagrams, diagnostic equipment, and software.
Troubleshoot CAN-bus and electronically controlled equipment when applicable.
Perform major component repairs and replacements.
Conduct scheduled maintenance and preventative services.
Inspect attachments and hydraulic systems, identify further repairs needed.
Document warranty repairs per manufacturer requirements.
Communicate repair status and parts needs to Service Advisors and Shop Foreman.
Test equipment post-repair to verify functionality.
Maintain an organized, safe work area and proper tool handling.
Participate in manufacturer training and continuing education.
