Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Director of Technical Program Management to lead multi-year, high-impact programs in Finance Technology. You will drive integration strategies, convergence of platforms, and data migrations, while building a scalable TPM discipline across teams.

You'll partner with executives to translate technical tradeoffs into business outcomes, manage risks, and deliver measurable improvements in availability, cost efficiency, and developer velocity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs.
• Experience designing distributed computing or SOA solutions.
• 3+ years building distributed systems and cloud-based services (AWS).
• 3+ years with Agile delivery.
• 3+ years delivering large, cross-functional programs.
• Experience in highly regulated environments.
• MBA or Master’s Degree in a related technical field.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.
• 3+ years of people management or influencing an organization as an IC.
• Experience driving platform standardization across portfolios.
• Track record building TPM maturity at scale.
• Exceptional communication and influence with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead programs delivering on critical business goals and build large scale products & platforms.
• Define integration strategies and drive data migration efforts aligned with long-term vision.
• Pave the way for expanding the TPM discipline within the team by teaching the organization what a great TPM can achieve.
• Contribute to TPM / Delivery strategy with operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling.
• Lead cross-platform investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward platform convergence.
