Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a well-established planning consultancy in York. The role focuses on managing a varied caseload, delivering strategic planning advice, and guiding projects from feasibility to submission, liaising with authorities and stakeholders.

You will mentor junior team members, contribute to business development, and help strengthen client relationships while delivering planning solutions across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• MRTPI chartership or strong commitment towards achieving it.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating planning applications from feasibility to submission and determination.
• Preparing and reviewing planning statements, appeal documents and supporting reports.
• Providing professional advice on planning policy, development management and planning strategy.
• Managing client relationships and liaising with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders.
• Undertaking site appraisals and identifying planning opportunities and constraints.
• Supporting delivery of complex planning projects and advising on achieving planning permission.
