Job summary

Rivian Automotive is seeking a Sr. Torque Engineer, Metrology to implement torque-specific requirements and support local teams as a subject matter expert on torque-related equipment and processes. You will drive quality, safety, and efficiency while leading continuous improvement initiatives.

You will troubleshoot tooling issues, support line decisions, and develop torque standards at the system level, collaborating across departments to optimize torque tooling performance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of metrology equipment for measuring dimensions and torque values.
• Experience using VDI/ToolsNet8/TT2/QAS and different tooling software.
• Experience programming Atlas Copco tools at an advanced level for all applications.
• Experience performing torque capability studies and data analyses.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot tooling issues across torque tool models and technology.
• Assist with line calls and line down issues relating to Torque tooling or Torque Quality.
• Develop, maintain, and improve internal torque requirements at a systems level.
• Monitor and report on Key Process Indicators and Key Activities Indicators for the torque department.
• Lead teams to address torque-related issues using problem-solving methodologies.
• Create torque-specific documentation such as standardized work and troubleshooting guides.
