Job summary

LER TechForce is seeking a Senior Torque Control Calibrations Engineer to work onsite in Troy, MI for a client in the automotive propulsion domain. You will lead calibration tasks, integrate software components, and support prototype and production calibration efforts.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in propulsion calibrations, knowledge of DVP&R, and experience with electrification projects. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in propulsion controls, calibration, and/or testing.
  • Ability to review software documents to learn and understand software.
  • Previous Hybrid or electrification calibration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with calibration and DVP&R through the complete product cycle.
  • Experience in problem solving.
  • Strong technical research and writing skills.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pedal calibration, torque shaping, cruise control, brake torque interface, and related propulsion calibration tasks.
  • Integrate key parts of the software and calibrate various parts for the production vehicle.
  • Support prototype and production-intent vehicle calibration.
  • Translate vehicle requirements and functional objectives into development and testing plans.
  • Work with client suppliers through Development Phases and with cross-functional teams to ensure successful launch and release.
  • Define, execute, and supervise Design Verification Plans (DVP) and reporting.
  • Support production ramp and field issue resolution.
  • Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones.
  • Manage calibration changes, including documentation of calibrations and changes.
  • Execute programs through the development process that meet or exceed objectives for performance, drivability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Create calibration tools and documentation.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform pedal calibration, torque shaping, cruise control, brake torque interface, and related propulsion calibration tasks.

  • Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones.
  • Manage calibration changes, including documentation of calibrations and changes.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in propulsion controls, calibration, and/or testing.
  • Ability to review software documents to learn and understand software.

  • Demonstrated experience with calibration and DVP&R through the complete product cycle.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business.
  • 10 years of experience.
  • Experience in the full product life cycle.
  • HW/SW knowledge and validation/release experience.
