Job summary

LER TechForce is seeking a Calibration Engineer in Oakland County to lead bench and vehicle evaluations and software calibration of powertrain and thermal systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure calibration processes meet project requirements and standards.

The role requires a 3+ year background in vehicle or powertrain calibration, a relevant engineering degree, and proficiency with INCA or CANape. On-site position with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in vehicle or powertrain calibration.
• Proven calibration experience in automotive environment; powertrain and thermal systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bench and vehicle evaluations for calibration opportunities.
• Perform software calibration of powertrain and thermal systems (transmission, inverters, batteries, energy management, thermal and cabin controls).
• Plan calibration activities and vehicle evaluations to meet milestones.
• Set up calibration tools and equipment for accurate testing.
• Document procedures, results, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

What you will be doing:

• Serve as primary responsible party for conducting Bench/Vehicle Evaluations and Software Calibration of Powertrain and Thermal Systems, including Transmission Systems, Electrical Motor Inverters, Batteries, Energy Management, Thermal Management Systems, and Cabin Controls.
• Conduct Bench and Vehicle Evaluations to assess system performance and identify calibration opportunities.
• Perform Software Calibration of Powertrain and Thermal Systems, including Transmission Systems, Electrical Motor Inverters, Batteries, Energy Management, Thermal Management Systems, and Cabin Controls.
• Support various aspects of Vehicle and Powertrain Controller Software Calibration Development.
• Plan calibration activities and vehicle evaluations to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
• Set up and maintain calibration tools and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure calibration processes align with project requirements and technical standards.
• Document calibration procedures, results, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Manage calibration projects within predefined budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

What you'll need to be successful:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience.
• Proven experience in vehicle or powertrain calibration, preferably in an automotive environment.
• Strong understanding of powertrain systems, thermal management, and vehicle control modules.
• Proficiency with calibration tools and software such as INCA, CANape, or similar.

Preferred:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan and organize calibration activities effectively.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
