Dormont Manufacturing Co is looking for a Senior Tooling Technician in Pittsboro, North Carolina. This role is crucial for machining, fabricating, and maintaining custom tooling and fixtures used in production. The technician will serve as the department's technical expert in machining and fabrication processes.
Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, 3-5 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in manual mills and lathes. The position offers a collaborative environment working alongside engineering and production teams to enhance tooling solutions.
The Senior Tooling Technician is responsible for machining, fabricating, and maintaining custom tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in production. This role serves as the department’s technical expert in machining and fabrication processes. In addition, this position provides backup support for maintenance activities as needed to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; technical diploma/certification in machining, manufacturing technology, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in machining, fabrication, or tool/fixture building in a manufacturing environment. Experience in general industrial maintenance preferred. Machining proficiency (manual mill/lathe required; CNC experience a plus). Ability to design from concept using hand sketches or simple CAD (preferred but not required).
Travel: 0-5%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Overtime may be required.
