Job summary

US Conec is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to join our Fort Worth team. You will lead new injection mold development from DFM through production approval and partner with mold suppliers to deliver robust molds that produce quality parts.

This role targets candidates with strong mechanical engineering backgrounds and hands-on injection molding experience in fast-paced, precision environments. Collaborative, growth-focused culture and advanced molding tech await.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 yrs experience in injection molding with focus on mold development.
  • Strong organization and communication.
  • Detail oriented with ability to adapt quickly.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software: AutoCAD Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Experience performing Mold flow analyses (MoldEx 3D preferred).
  • Familiar with engineering grade resins.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate part design for moldability and mold tooling design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track project milestones and communicate with key team members and customers.
  • Structure projects with clear objectives communicated to the supplier.
  • Document requirements and functional specs to ensure supplier compliance.
  • Record all associated technical documentation including qualification results.
  • Coordinate between internal customers, external suppliers, and supply chain to set priorities and schedules.
  • Provide weekly status reports of tooling progress, qualification scheduling, and tool transfers.
  • Plan, coordinate and attend FAT activities on-site at suppliers.
  • Evaluate testing results and direct all improvements to tooling and mold performance.
  • Manage all internal mold testing and qualification tasks.
  • Deliver comprehensive mold documentation for hand-off to production.

Senior Tooling Engineer
Overview

  • Provide weekly status reports of progress in all areas of tooling, qualification scheduling, tool transfers, and tool repair status.
  • Plan, coordinate and attend all FAT activities on-site at suppliers
  • Provide evaluation of testing results and direct all functional, dimension and visual correction and/or improvements
  • Manage all internal Mold testing and qualification tasks
  • Deliver comprehensive mold documentation to facilitate a seamless hand-off to production molding and operations teams.
Must Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from a four-year ABET accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 yrs experience in the injection molding industry with a focus on mold development
  • Strong organization and communication
  • Detail oriented with the ability to adapt to changes quickly
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with 3D modeling software required: AutoCAD Inventor or SolidWorks
  • Experience performing and interpreting Mold flow analyses (MoldEx 3D, preferred).
  • Familiar with engineering grade resins
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
