Job summary

RTX’s Pratt & Whitney unit is seeking a Senior Durable Tooling Designer to support the design and manufacturing of durable tooling across MC&O sites. The role collaborates with Internal Stakeholders, Operational Excellence, OEM design services, and tooling OEMs to drive cost, quality, and technical performance improvements.

Responsibilities include leading moderately-to-significantly sized projects, coaching junior staff, and contributing to tool design standards within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering or Math with 8+ years of experience or
• Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience, or
• 10 years of relevant experience in absence of degree

Responsibilities

• Analyze tooling packages to understand scope of work.
• Conduct concept and layout reviews for new and legacy programs.
• Calculate cost estimates for tool design and manufacturing projects.
• Complete export reviews for jurisdiction and classification of tool drawings and CAD files.
• Validate supplier quotes meet technical requirements.
• Approve and release durable tooling purchase orders for design and manufacturing.
