Job summary
Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks an experienced New Product Introduction (NPI) Tooling Designer to design and develop durable tooling for aerospace production. You translate manufacturing requirements into practical tooling solutions and support tooling from concept through release, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, suppliers, and tooling OEMs.
The role requires a BS in a STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and NX
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
- 5+ years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Proficiency in NX or similar CAD software.
- Experience designing durable tooling and manufacturing support equipment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze tooling packages to understand scope and develop durable tooling solutions.
- Conduct concept and design reviews to ensure manufacturability and quality.
- Estimate costs for tool design and manufacturing projects.
- Complete export reviews for tool drawings and CAD files.
- Approve and release durable tooling reference packages.
