Job summary

DP Professionals (DPP) is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer for aerospace manufacturing on Merritt Island, FL. The role designs tooling to support fabrication, assembly, test, and movement of hardware on the production floor.

You will take projects from concept to proof testing, collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers, ensure safety, quality, and cost goals, and apply Creo and Windchill to release drawings.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of direct manufacturing experience.
• Tooling design, fabrication, and procurement experience.
• Strong CAD modeling and drafting experience.
• Creo Parametric and Windchill experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing, and GD&T.
• Ability to create free-body diagrams, identify load cases, and perform basic hand calculations.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and release CAD models and engineering drawings for tooling.
• Design assembly fixtures, material-handling equipment, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machinery.
• Take tooling projects from concept through fabrication, installation, commissioning, and proof testing.
• Work with vendors on fabrication and procurement.
• Support repair, rework, and nonconformance resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop material-handling and packaging solutions.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Integration, and Component Engineering teams.
• Balance safety, quality, cost, cycle time, delivery, reliability, and maintainability.
