Job summary

Omega Plastics Inc. in Clinton Township, MI is seeking a hands-on Sr. Tool Room Lead to drive tool making and lead tooling projects from kickoff through completion. You will balance in-house work with outsourcing while managing timelines, budgets, and client expectations.

The role requires expert tool and die experience in plastic injection, plus leadership responsibilities and close collaboration with clients. On-site work five days a week in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on tool and die building experience in plastic injection manufacturing.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing mold shop environment.
• 5+ years of experience conducting design reviews, including direct collaboration with customers/client.
• 5+ years of experience strategically managing relationships with outsources

Responsibilities

• Build validated tooling to meet tight tolerances and precision requirements.
• Own and communicate tooling timelines, serving as the primary point of accountability for completion dates.
• Evaluate and decide when work should be completed in-house vs. outsourced.
• Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure quality, timing, and cost targets are met.
• Participate in tool kickoff meetings with clients to align scope, timing, and expectations.
• Track and manage tooling costs and labor hours to protect profitability margins.
• Support performance management and annual reviews for direct reports.
