Hoover & Strong, Inc. in the Richmond area is seeking a skilled Tool Die Maker/Senior Machinist to build, repair and improve tooling used to manufacture jewelry components and precision parts.

You will read CAD drawings, set up Mills, Lathes and surface grinders, and work to tight tolerances. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of senior machinist experience, strong measurement skills with micrometers and calipers, and the ability to train apprentices.

Formación

• Read CAD drawings and job orders to determine dimensions.
• Set up and operate Mills, Lathes and surface grinders to precise specs.
• Repair and maintain press tools and die tools.
• Assist tooling from commissioning through start of production.
• Train apprentices and junior machinists.
• Measure with micrometers/calipers and verify tolerances.

Responsabilidades

• Read CAD drawings and job orders to determine dimensions.
• Set up and operate Mills, Lathes and surface grinders to precise specs.
• Repair and maintain press tools and die repairs.
• Attend press breakdowns, identify faults and minimize downtime.
• Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through production.
• Wire EDM, Sinker EDM and CNC Mill experience a plus.
