Job summary

Hynes Industries in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Tool & Die Engineer 2 to lead the design and development of precision tooling, dies, and fixtures to support production operations.

You will partner with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure tooling reliability and drive continuous improvement in tool design, manufacturing efficiency, and product quality. Bachelor's degree and 10+ years in tool & die preferred; strong CAD and machining experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in tool & die design, build, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of stamping dies, progressive dies, injection molds, and roll forming tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of new tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Provide technical assistance to support preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of dies and tooling.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure tooling meets quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
• Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling, materials, and processes.
• Coordinate with suppliers and outside vendors for tool and die fabrication and repairs.
• Maintain documentation for tooling specifications, maintenance records, and engineering changes.
