Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer focused on tooling for Starlink hardware. You will lead projects developing plastics injection molding and high-pressure die casting tooling, acting as a technical advisor on manufacturing techniques and tooling selection.

You will collaborate across design, production, and supply teams, manage CapEx, equipment specs, and production layouts while ensuring schedules and budgets are kept aligned with SpaceX’s ambitious manufacturing goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, materials engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience with high precision machining.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project focused on development of technologies for plastic injection molding and high pressure die casting tooling.
• Act as technical decision maker on manufacturing techniques and tooling.
• Collaborate with design engineering, upstream production, and support teams to maintain supplier/customer relationships.
• Manage CapEx, staffing, equipment specs, layouts, training, and build processes.
