Job summary

A leading title insurance firm located in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Claims Counsel to manage title insurance and escrow claims, providing legal analysis, negotiating settlements, and representing the company in court. Qualifications

• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
• Law degree required.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in any state of the United States.
• Ability to develop, evaluate and implement resolution strategies to fully conclude a claim.
• Experience handling claims and insurance coverage.
• 12+ years of experience with emphasis on real estate matters, including litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate facts and determine coverage for claims.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and opposing counsel.
• Appear as company representative in court and mediation.
• Manage claim budgets and approve invoices.
• Direct outside counsel on litigation strategy.
• Identify recovery sources.
