Job summary

Atlas Copco North America LLC in Shakopee, MN, is seeking a skilled TIG welder with extensive UHV experience to join our Welding team within the Vacuum Technique sector. You will report to the Production Manager and deliver expert TIG welding for Ultra High Vacuum components, ensuring quality and precision throughout the fabrication process.

You will read blueprints, conduct leak tests, and collaborate with engineering to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of TIG welding experience in Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) welding techniques.
• Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Strong safety orientation and compliance with safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to mentor colleagues and support team development.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled TIG welding on Ultra High Vacuum components per engineering blueprints.
• Conduct leak detection tests to validate weld integrity and product quality.
• Troubleshoot welding process challenges to minimize disruptions and scrap.
• Fabricate and repair weldments to meet technical specs and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability and welding protocols.
• Weld prototypes and contribute feedback during new product development.
