Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer - Threat Research to strengthen secure software across cloud and enterprise environments in healthcare technology. You will embed security into SDLC, perform threat modeling, conduct assessments, and mentor teams to remediate findings.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, and security stakeholders to design scalable controls, improve threat detection, and advance the organization’s security posture in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in application security or related roles.
• 5+ years with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, C/C++, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
• 3+ years securing public cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• 3+ years with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years with Infrastructure as Code or Security as Code practices.
• 3+ years performing application security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Security Engineering & Secure Development: implement standards and best practices.
• Threat Research & Analysis: research threats, model risks, and analyze findings.
• Security Solutions & Architecture: design controls across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Collaboration: work with engineers, architects, and security stakeholders.
• Incident Response & Operational Support: assist security investigations and remediation.
