CVS Health is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer - Threat Research to secure healthcare software across cloud and enterprise environments. You will embed security into the software development lifecycle, conduct threat modeling, and collaborate with engineering teams to mitigate risks.

The role focuses on security engineering, threat research, incident response, and building scalable controls while mentoring engineers and driving security automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in application security, information security, software engineering, or related roles.
• 5+ years with programming or scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, C/C++, PowerShell, or Shell).
• 3+ years securing public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• 3+ years with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 3+ years with Infrastructure as Code or Security as Code.
• 3+ years performing application security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat modeling.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support application security standards, policies, and best practices.
• Partner with engineering to integrate security into design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Promote secure coding practices and remediate findings.
• Contribute to security automation initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Design, configure, and support security technologies across cloud and enterprise environments.
• Assist with vulnerability management and remediation programs.
