Job summary

Proofpoint in Dallas, TX is seeking a software engineer to build full-stack apps with Python, TypeScript, React and Go, and to manage large PostgreSQL databases. You’ll collaborate with threat intelligence teams, improve reliability, and help run AWS infrastructure with CI/CD and observability tools.

The role emphasizes production Python experience, PostgreSQL depth, and hands-on AWS operations to deliver robust security-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Substantive Python experience in production or enterprise environments.
• PostgreSQL experience is required.
• Hands-on AWS infrastructure management experience (EC2, RDS, VPC, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain full-stack applications and backend services using Python, TypeScript, React, and Go.
• Own and manage large SQL databases backing applications for the Threat Intelligence team.
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability with runbooks, dashboards, and automation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and threat intelligence stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Manage AWS infrastructure including VPC, ECS, Aurora/RDS, EC2, Networking, SQS/SNS, CDK.
• Follow CI/CD, observability, and monitoring best practices (GitHub Actions, CloudWatch, Grafana, Docker).
