Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer to join a leader in the information technology space. The role blends threat research, detection engineering, and client-facing guidance in a fast-paced cybersecurity environment.

You will drive zero-day alert processes, coordinate cross-team responses, and publish advisories while supporting customers and internal stakeholders. Remote work is available, with a focus on clear, actionable security insights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in threat intelligence, vulnerability research, pen testing, or defensive security engineering.
• Deep knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, web apps, and exploitation techniques.
• Experience assessing vulnerabilities under time pressure and translating them into enterprise risk.
• Hands-on experience writing scanner detections, signatures, or parsing scripts (Python, regex).
• Experience with honeypots, deception tech, or large security datasets.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Drive the zero-day alert process from vulnerability triage to actionable policyholder notification
• Coordinate urgent outreach with Security Support, Underwriting, and Incident Response for high-severity vulnerabilities
• Write and refine technology fingerprints, detection rules, and security findings from scan data
• Maintain and expand the honeypot network, analyzing telemetry for exploitation techniques
• Improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives using claims insights and external datasets
• Publish advisories, research, and briefings to inform security decisions
• Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency notifications

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will help shape how emerging threats are identified, analyzed, and translated into clear, actionable guidance for customers and internal stakeholders. You will work across security support, underwriting, and incident response to accelerate decision-making during high-severity vulnerability events. The position combines technical threat research, detection engineering, and customer-focused communication in a fast-moving cybersecurity environment.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $106,700 – $190,000 annually
