Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a senior threat analyst to join our Cybersecurity Operations team in the Pensacola area. You will lead threat hunts, analyze Windows and non-Windows environments, and collaborate with other security teams to validate controls and drive threat-hunting initiatives.

The role requires advanced knowledge of security architectures, event correlation tools, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Windows and non-Windows OS concepts.
• Strong ability to evaluate large endpoint and network data sets for abnormalities.
• Extensive cybersecurity/IT security experience.
• Knowledge of security architectures, firewalls, proxies, and network topology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert knowledge of TTPs, forensics, and incident response across Windows and non-Windows environments.
• Identify and hunt for unknown threat activity across multiple environments.
• Lead requirements for test plans and adversary emulation for threat hunts.
• Conduct threat hunts using advanced analytics and reconstruct suspicious processes for reporting.
• Analyze network and endpoint events to determine impact of incidents.
• Analyze log files and forensic data to detect intrusions at the endpoint level.
• Develop non-standard analytic queries for cyber defense tools in response to threats.
• Mature event correlation to identify logging gaps in security architecture.
• Examine network topologies to understand data flows and security implications.
• Provide cybersecurity recommendations to leadership based on threats and vulnerabilities.
• Support maturation of threat hunt standards, taxonomy, and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
