Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is seeking an Information Security Analyst III to lead incident response activities, translate threat intelligence into actionable monitoring, and improve enterprise detection capabilities. The role sits in Cranberry Township, PA with a hybrid schedule and collaboration across IT, Legal, Data Privacy, HR, and business partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information security, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience in security operations and incident response.
• Experience with incident response frameworks and methodologies, including NIST SP 800-61 and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Advanced experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms, security analytics, forensics, threat intelligence, and endpoint or cloud security technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft security tools, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Create efficient, complex queries and analytics in large security data platforms to build alerts, reports, dashboards, and automated response actions.
• Experience maturing threat detection capabilities, translating threat intelligence into detection logic, and developing detections as code using Sigma or YARA.
• Proficiency in one or more high-level programming or scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate computer security incidents, following incident response policies and procedures.
• Analyze activity reported by security technologies and maintain investigation records.
• Develop and maintain detection use cases, analytics, alerts, and dashboards in security monitoring platforms.
• Translate threat intelligence into threat models, detection logic, and response actions.
• Plan, tune, and refine detection content to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.
• Provide guidance to first responders and security operations staff during investigations and major incidents.
• Maintain the operational effectiveness and configuration of security solutions like Defender, Sentinel, SIEM, and SOAR.
• Collaborate with security teams to define requirements and improve detection and response capabilities.
• Perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
