Job summary

Axiom Space seeks a Senior Detection Engineer to lead the detection program, turning telemetry into actionable intelligence. You will implement MITRE ATT&CK-aligned coverage, maintain logging pipelines, and drive automated responses within SIEM/EDR and SOAR frameworks.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure ITAR/EAR and NIST 800-53/171 alignment, while expanding threat hunting and validation activities in a dynamic space environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; 7+ years in Detection Engineering/SOC

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end detection lifecycle: log ingestion, query authoring, and alert tuning in SIEM/EDR
• Research adversary TTPs and map coverage to MITRE ATT&CK
• Design and maintain telemetry pipelines for identity, network, and app data
• Architect automated response playbooks to enrich alerts and reduce false positives
• Develop monitoring logic to enforce ITAR/EAR data fencing and NIST controls
• Execute atomic red team simulations to verify detection efficacy
• Conduct threat hunting to uncover advanced threats
• Provide expert incident escalation and root-cause analysis during incidents
• Maintain detection logic in version control and CI/CD pipelines
• Communicate progress and risks to stakeholders; apply agile methodologies
• Perform additional duties as assigned
