Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Marketing - Thought Leader Marketing Liaison to lead advocacy and KOL engagement for the US Immunology IBD portfolio. The role emphasizes strategic alignment of scientific insights with brand objectives, conference participation, and speaker program readiness.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration, ensure compliant execution, and travel up to 60% to regional and national venues. Remote work is available with field-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5-8 years in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or field medical engagement or KOL management roles.
• At least 2 years of IBD experience strongly preferred with existing Key KOL networks in IBD.

Responsibilities

• Advocacy development: identify and map national and regional scientific leaders across the US IBD landscape; develop and assess advocacy around scientific messages, product positioning, and medical education content.
• SL/KOL engagement execution: execute engagements with SLs, including congress participation, site visits, and HQ-approved activities; gather actionable insights to inform marketing strategies and brand planning.
• Congress participation and engagement: collaborate with marketing to determine participation and level of support in key IBD conferences; secure engagement meetings and congress execution.
• Speaker bureau development & readiness: help identify and manage a US IBD Speaker Bureau, including faculty identification, onboarding, and training to approved content; ensure speaker advocacy aligns with key messages.
