Job summary

Alero Credit Union is seeking a Third Party Risk Manager to oversee the TPRM program under the Enterprise Risk Management team. You will execute day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with the ERM framework and compliance with applicable laws.

The role requires leading risk assessments, developing governance materials, and communicating with senior management and vendor owners to sustain a mature TPRM program. Strong collaboration across business lines is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related Business Management field.
• Sponsor banking and/or fintech experience preferred.
• Minimum of seven years of credit union or bank experience supporting the TPRM function.
• CTPRP or similar designation preferred.
• In-depth understanding of laws, regulations, guidance, and industry standards governing third-party relationships in the financial services sector.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to develop training materials and train individuals in TPRM processes, risk assessments, etc.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and lead the day-to-day operations of the TPRM Program under the director of the First Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management.
• Act as a SME to internal and external stakeholders on third-party risk matters.
• Foster relationships across business lines to enable collaboration.
• Create and mature the TPRM policy, procedures, guidelines, templates, forms, and governance process.
• Communicate with senior managers and vendor owners to build partnerships that support a mature TPRM Program.
• Review potential and established third-party relationships and new initiatives.
• Provide TPRM risk mitigation strategies and advise management.
• Coordinate contract reviews with legal, third-party relationship owners, and internal vendor owners.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on TPRM health and risk.
• Support audit reviews and regulatory exams.
