Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Risk professional to lead Third-Party Risk governance within the 1st Line of Defence. You will coordinate risk and control assessments, issue management, and governance reporting across TPMO, partnering with Vendors and Legal Entity teams.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. The role requires 7+ years in risk management, with experience in risk governance and controlling activities, supported by relevant certifications where possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Approximately 7+ years of relevant experience in Corporate Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk, risk governance, internal controls, audit, compliance, or a related discipline.
• Experience coordinating risk governance processes such as risk and control assessments, issue management, operational risk events, control inventories, risk reporting, or audit activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage TPMO participation in Corporate Risk Management processes, including risk and control assessments and issue management.
• Coordinate inputs from TPMO process owners to support timely risk management deliverables.
• Maintain TPMO governance documentation and reporting; elevate emerging risks to leadership.
• Lead Third-Party Risk governance framework with oversight to enterprise leadership.
• Assist in review of Third-Party risk events and remediation actions.
• Support governance of intra-group arrangements and regulatory engagements.
• Provide guidance on Corporate Risk Management processes and timelines.
