Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking a Senior Thermoforming Coordinator in Franklin Park, IL to oversee the efficient flow of materials and information in the Thermoforming Department. You will lead the department during the night shift, reporting to the Plant Manager, with a focus on safety, machine reliability, quality, and cost performance.

Candidates should have 2–4 years in manufacturing, experience in thermoforming, leadership ability, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in Thermoforming industry.
• Must have manufacturing Industry experience.
• Must have leadership experience.
• Associates degree in related fields (Preferred).
• Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization (writing, speaking and reading).
• Bilingual (Spanish) (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, attendance, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.
• Teach and coach the safety process and best manufacturing practices for assigned shift.
• Attend production meetings and audit production running checks and process sheets in Infinity.
• Ensure items produced meet quality standards by conducting QA testing, documenting results and correcting process or material issues when defects are identified.
• Support Quality initiatives based on customer specifications and Customer Experience Pillar.
• Direct shift in continuous improvement initiatives and work to meet performance metrics using tools such as GPS and KPI's.
• Create and support safety protocols as well as incident reporting, safety hour walks, OPLs and presentations.
• Provide direction, training, and development of hourly employees on assigned shift as well as counseling or discipline as needed.
• Verify and set machine parameters according to established process sheets.
• Ensure Thermoforming lines have proper material according to production order.
• Oversee the operation of Thermoforming, automation and auxiliary equipment.
• Provide leadership with start-up processes on the lines, updates in pre-shift meetings.
• Follow procedures for daily, weekly machine inspection, preventative maintenance.
• Address issues with manager and maintenance staff.
• Assist or coach lead technicians for troubleshooting and running machine equipment.
• Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Follow GMPs regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
• Follow product safety, food safety and quality standards.
• Practice safe work habits and follow all general safety procedures, such as Energy Isolation, Hazard Communication, PPE.
• Ensure lockout procedures are strictly followed any time equipment is being maintained and or cleaned.

Location: Franklin Park, IL Position: Senior Thermoforming Coordinator Hours: 1st shift – 6am – 2pm Rate: $42.32/hr

What you'll be doing: While reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient flow of materials and information within our production in Thermoforming Department in a safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You'll be responsible for coordinating the activities of all department employees in the plant during the night shift hours. Your role will involve various aspects of the manufacturing process such as safety, machine reliability, quality assurance, production efficiency, continuous improvement, material handling and cost performance. You'll take pride in your personal hands‑on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate production scheduling on shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, vacation scheduling, hourly attendance, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.


• Teach and coach the safety process and best manufacturing practices for assigned shift.
