Job summary

The Chemours Company in Newark, DE is hiring a Thermodynamics Senior Research Investigator to advance thermophysical data, develop predictive models, and deliver data packages for Aspen Plus and other simulators. You will work in a hands-on lab and computational environment across Refrigerants, Foam Blowing Agents and thermal management technologies.

This role requires a PhD with 3+ years (or MS with 8+ years) in Chemical/Mechanical engineering, and expertise in thermodynamics, transport

Qualifications

• PhD + 3+ years or MS + 8+ years in Chemical/Mechanical engineering.
• Hands-on experience measuring thermophysical properties.
• Experience with transport properties assignment to complex systems.
• Experience in parameter regression, calibration and validation.
• Programming in Python/FORTRAN/C++/Java is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate and improve lab systems to measure thermophysical properties.
• Plan and execute experiments for VLE, LLE, VLLE, SLE, density, viscosity, heat capacity.
• Develop predictive thermodynamic models and thermophysical data packages.
• Calibrate models using experimental data and validate with existing knowledge.
• Collaborate across teams and train colleagues on data packages and tools.
