Vertiv in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer to lead and assist Test Technicians in designing and developing equipment setups and test procedures for major systems at the Vertiv Thermal Lab.

The role is onsite in Columbus, with a strong emphasis on thermal testing and instrumentation. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (thermal/fluids preferred) with 5+ years of experience in thermal systems testing, plus hands-on data acquisition and testing skills.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent; thermal/fluids emphasis preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in thermal systems testing; other combos may be considered.
• Knowledge of Vertiv Thermal Management Products preferred; LabView knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of psychrometrics, vapor compression refrigeration cycle, and their test methods.
• Thorough knowledge of 3-Phase electrical circuits.
• Thorough knowledge of digital and electronic circuitry.
• Ability to configure data acquisition systems.
• Ability to use temperature and pressure measurement instruments.
• Ability to use standard electrical instruments and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret industry test standards.
• Ability to read and interpret product schematics.
• Hands-on with products and test setups to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to give direction to Test Technicians & communicate issues to management.
• Excellent communication skills with a professional attitude towards customer relations.
• Self-directed, good problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English: Ability to communicate and work in English.
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Oracle experience is an advantage).
• Category B driving license.
• Experience in project management and CAD (CREO) is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Direct Test Technicians and assign daily tasks with clear expectations.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure test procedures meet specs.
• Create Test Plans for customer equipment demonstrations.
• Review test progress and evaluate results.
• Present test results to customers using test equipment.
• Perform test validations and Factory Witness Tests.
• Calibrate instrumentation in the lab.
• Support engineering and other groups to deliver high‑quality test products.
